Frequently Asked Questions
What Kind of classes do you offer?
We offer a variety of styles based on the age group you are looking for. Styles include, Jazz, Tap, Clogging, Hip Hop, Contemporary & Ballet.
What Ages do you teach?
We offer classes for ages 2-18. Our hope is also to offer adult classes depending on interest.
How often does each class meet?
Each class meets once a week.
Can I watch my child’s class?
For our youngest students, we offer a 3-week grace period where parents are welcome to stay in the classroom as long as they participate in class with their dancer. After those three weeks (or sooner if you and your dancer feel ready!), we ask parents to step out so students can get comfortable and we can keep distractions to a minimum. To help with the transition, each new dancer is paired with a class buddy to make them feel welcome and confident, and parents are always welcome to observe the entire class from our window near the restaurant.
Getting Ready for Your First Day of Dance
When You Arrive
Please arrive 10 minutes before class begins. We ask that all dancers use the restroom before class starts.
After you arrive at Deer Valley please wait in the lobby for your child’s class to begin. When it is time a Trove Staff member will collect all of the dancers from the lobby and bring them downstairs to the studio for their class time.
We kindly ask that any parent or sibling who is not a member of Deer Valley remain upstairs during your dancers class time.. You have the option of watching your dancers class through our observation window near the restaurant.
Parents are not required to stay in the building during their child’s class.
What to Wear
Dancers must wear the appropriate shoes for their dance genre (see list below).
Clothing should be form-fitting and allow for full movement.
Ballet classes: Leotard and tights are required.
Contemporary & Jazz: Leotards are recommended but not required.
Please avoid oversized t-shirts, sweatshirts, or pants that drag on the floor.
No jewelry or watches are allowed during class.
Small stud earrings are permitted.
No hoops or dangling earrings.
If a dancer arrives wearing jewelry, they will be asked to remove it before class begins.
Each dancer should bring a full water bottle.
