Harvest House Dance Ministry is a collaborative effort in worship and performance. We empower our community through dance to:
Know God As a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled ministry, our goal is for our dancers to grow in relationship with God and come into a deeper understanding of His character.
Experience Freedom Dance is a biblical practice. The Bible is true. The truth sets you free. We believe that each person is composed of mind, body and spirit; every part of who we are is interconnected. Through vulnerability in movement, we experience freedom of body, which translates to freedom of mind and freedom of spirit.
Let them praise His name with dancing and make music to Him with timbrel and harp. -Psalm 149:3
Discover Purpose God is a creator and we are made in His image. As we create we become more like Him and bring Him glory. Moving as a community in the image of God, we reveal Him for who He is.
Make a Difference When our dance community worships in freedom and vulnerability, we create an atmosphere for change in our greater community and corporate worship. When our dance community performs choreography in front of the church, our members are able to encounter God with fresh perspective.
Our dance ministry leaders are Britty Daniels, Tori Cortes, and Ashley Willingham. Britty and Tori are directors of Harvest House Dance Studio and Ashley has been involved in the Dance Ministry since 2005. Britty Daniels graduated with a minor in dance from Appalachian State. Tori Cortes has extensive studio training and experience from Lake Norman Dance Gallery. Ashley Willingham graduated with a major in dance from Appalachian State.
Our goal is to create a collective of skilled dancers that can perform choreographed pieces with excellent technique and quality of movement. We want to create a community of dancers who worship our Father in spirit and truth.
But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. -John 4:23
We meet every Wednesday night from 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the dance studio. We begin each meeting with 30 minutes of prayer and worship which is open to all church members. The last hour is committed to rehearsal for the current performance piece.
We dedicate the two weeks following a performance to workshop-style meetings in which the purpose is to train and educate on improvisation, worship and prophetic dance. This is open to all church members regardless of dance experience.
For where two or three are gathers in my name, there I am among them. -Matthew 18:20
